Great Wolf Lodge

We spent the weekend at The Great Wolf Lodge!
Chloe was so excited! We asked her if she could bring anyone with her who would it be- in the middle of her making a list Abby suggested Megan.
Chloe started bouncing around- Megan was instantly at the top of her list! So we called Karmella and asked permission- Megan was so excited!
In the process, we figured it would be fun to bring my Mom, too!
So we all piled in the car and drive way longer than planned, traffic was not on our side that day.
The girls were sitting in the way back seats and were so so good on the ride.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to swim the night we arrived, but they were still good even through the disappointment.
It was funny as we got off the freeway to arrive at the hotel, we were telling them that we already passed the lodge and were actually looking for a Thread Store I'd found online. We asked them to look out the window and try to find the big sign that looked like a big spool of thread. Since we couldn't swim that night we were going to shop for thread until bedtime. They were suspicious, but "helped" is nonetheless. They got super excited when they saw the big sign for the Lodge.
We'd brought some groceries with us to make sure we had healthy food to eat and it worked out perfectly! The hotel is big and beautiful and all the walls are muraled with the wolf/forest theme. All the furniture is big and made of wood. Even the garbage cans are
"forest-y".
The indoor water park is always 84 degrees! It rained and rained outside, but we were warm and swimming all day! There was a wave machine pool which everyone had a good time with. We all particularly loved the huge 1000 gallon bucket that would dump water every so often over a big play structure.
Chloe and Megan were both a bit nervous about the slides to start with, but before long they were pros! They loved all the slides. There was one slide that the whole family could go down together in a raft-tube. It was very big and awesome. It even had music and lights throughout the slide!
The hotel also had a pretty cool arcade which we visited a couple times. We all liked to collect the tickets to get prizes. We got ice cream and treats and had a lot of fun together. Chloe kept saying that Great Wolf Lodge is the "Best place in the world!!"
My mom bought them a couple little stuffed wolves for keepsakes and also let them choose one pretty stone from a bag of stones shed bought. Chloe was thoughtful and nice to offer her first choice stone to Megan when Megan said she'd wanted the same one.
They were both jumping up and down excited at every turn.
Even with such an indulgent weekend, the girls stayed respectful and grateful the whole time. We were so proud to be there with them.
